New fencing

Yesterday saw us take another step towards keeping our first four-legged livestock as a couple of fencing contractors spent a sunny (but chilly) afternoon erecting around 80 meters of stock fencing across the bottom of our field. You can see the (mostly) finished result below).

New fencing being put in

As far as we know the field had only previously been used for growing hay so fencing was never a particular priority - until now the bottom of the field was simply marked with a drainage ditch. Now that the new fence is in though it feels like we've reached a bit of a milestone as, for the first time since we moved here, the boundary of the field is now fully fenced and ready for livestock. :-)
